The Barrett Station Ministerial Alliance (BSMA) is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization consisting of Churches (Trans-Denominational) within the Barrett Station Community. Barrett, Texas is located approximately twenty miles east of Houston, Texas.
The BSMA Organization was formed in January 1988 for Benevolent Purposes and to address Community Issues. BSMA was birthed as a result of a discussion relating to community needs among a group of Pastors, Coaches and Board Members of a Local Community Youth Athletic Program.
During this period of time in the mid-to-late 1980’s, drugs (especially crack cocaine) were a major problem within the community. Therefore, BSMA leaped into action out of necessity and commitment to the community for the “Greater Good”. In 1992, the BSMA, was recognized by Harris County and Texas State Agencies for its Drug Awareness Programs.
The BSMA sponsors two annual events each year to foster unity within the community. One event is held during the month of July in support of the Community's Annual Homecoming Festivities. The second event is a Community-wide Thanksgiving Service held the week preceding Thanksgiving Day.
Our “Commitment” continues well into the future as we take a long-term view of ongoing needs throughout the community.
